"Reflecting the Past into the Present"
I have an interest in Early American Folk Art and offer hand painted or hand stitched pieces reflecting some of that early art form. My original creations are also complimented by designs from other talented decorative artists.

About Me
As a little girl , I loved art of all kinds and kept my days filled with artwork. I loved to color and filled my coloring pages carefully outlining pictures and shading. Boy did I love that box of crayola 64! It was so exciting to get those added colors, silver, gold, bronze, seafoam green, periwinkle, wow! I loved to make the strings of paper cutouts and add color and designs to them.
At the early age of 9, Grandma Emma started giving me lessons on how to embroider and crochet. I use to love to watch her do her embroidery work and crochet my doll clothes. As soon as I got to Grandma's I would run in her room and find my tin box that held my special doll and clothing and yarn and needles. Time together was so special and gave me a wonderful craft. Grandma's house was special, she made her own soap and was always in the kitchen cooking and gardening. The best part was walking back into her garden surrounded by a small white picket fence and smelling the dill. When we go to market, they have a crock of dill and what a wonderful aroma that is to me. A wonderful place to visit and I was so fortunate to only live a few blocks away and spend that time with her.
I have continued through the years taking stitching and painting classes. I love doing this handwork and have a passion for painting. I am very fortunate to be able "work" at my hobbie.
I live in Ohio with my husband of 37 years and have 2 daughters and 2 sons. They have blessed us with 12 grandchildren who all live close by and are apart of our lives.
I thank all of them for being so supportive, helpful, and encouraging. They make my world go round!

Where have aprons gone?
The other day I was thinking of my grandma, mom, aunts and picturing them working around the house, getting supper and at the gatherings for the holidays and in my mind I picture them wearing aprons. I have a few photographs that show them at work wearing these aprons. Where have aprons gone?
I wish I had a few. Oh how I could fill those pockets! My cell phone, notes, a brush, little gadgets that would help me carry out my work and duties of the day. Not to mention the protection my clothes would get while painting and cooking.
I went to a stitching shop the other day and one of their upcoming classes was making aprons. I am signed up for that one.

Baby, it's cold outside!
hmm, -7 today, think I will sit by the fire wrapped in a quilt and stitch sipping a hot cup of tea.
